El pasado jueves leía en Central Bureau Astronomical Telegram la información de nuevas posibles supernovas.
Así me dispuse a intentar capturar algunas imágenes con la configuración del telescopio a f10 y dando a las imágenes una exposición "larga" de 240 segundos.

Observation Date: 2015 02 17.81122
Remarks: This transient was observed on 2015 02 17.81122 by G. Masi, remotely using the 17"-f/6.8 robotic unit part of the Virtual Telescope Project facility, at Bellatrix Astronomical Observatory in Ceccano, Italy. 180-seconds exposures, unfiltered, show the source at mag. 16.5 (R mags for the reference stars from UCAC-4). We also performed astrometry, getting the following end figures: 53.91; 10.1 (J2000.0, mean residuals of 0.2" on both axes).

Masi, remotely using the 17"-f/6.8 robotic unit part of the Virtual Telescope Project facility, at Bellatrix Astronomical Observatory in Ceccano, Italy. 180-seconds exposures, unfiltered, show the source at mag. 17.1 (R mags for the reference stars from UCAC-4). We also performed astrometry, getting the following end figures: 44.25; 36.1 - Decl.:+16d 05' 36.1", note the discovered reported a wrong initial declination - (J2000.0, mean residuals of 0.2" on both axes).

En este caso la supernova "tapaba" a la débil galaxia que la contenía.

Y finalmente caía una última supernova.

La verdad que con la información de los avisos no resulta fácil escoger entre f10, f6.3 o f3.3 pero cuando las supernovas se encuentran muy "metidas" en galaxias débiles resulta mejor la reolución f10 aunque no gane la misma luz que a f6.3 y necesite mucho más tiempo y mejor seguimiento para obtener imágenes válidas.
